At retirement
Alexander Forbes Financial Services has promoted Gemma Goodman to head of The Annuity Bureau and DC operations.
Nigel Barlow, formerly head of research with Just Retirement, has joined retirement specialist Partnership as director of technical product development.
MGM Advantage has appointed Andrew Tully, who spent 18 years at Standard Life, to the newly created role of retirement income technical manager.
Pension schemes
Tim Coffin is the new environmental manager at the Universities Superannuation Scheme. He previously held senior roles with WSP Environmental and SKM Enviros.
Regulatory
Philip Taylor joins the Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline Board and Olivia Dickson joins the Board for Actuarial Standards at the Financial Reporting Council.
Teresa Fritz, a former principal researcher at Which?, and Pamela Meadows, visiting Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research and a director of Synergy Research and Consulting, are the latest recruits to the Financial Services Consumer Panel. Tony Hetherington steps down after six years on the panel.
Kay Blair, vice chair of the Financial Services Consumer Panel, has been appointed as a consumer representative on the insurance and reinsurance stakeholder group of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority.

BESTrustees has hired Peter Godding, who was a senior partner at Mercer, as an associate.
Legal
Sacker & Partners has promoted Claire van Rees to associate. She joined the firm from Hogan Lovells in 2010.
Insurance
Royal London has appointed Phil Loney as group chief executive. Phil joins from Lloyds Banking Group, where he was managing director, life, pensions and investments. Andrew Palmer, previously group finance director of Legal & General Group plc, becomes a non-executive director.
Simon Skinner, AEGON’s customer services director, becomes its new chief operating officer.
Star movers
PPF appoints two new board members
Arnold Wagner OBE and Baroness Diana Warwick have joined the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) board as non-executive directors.
PPF chairman, Lady Barbara Judge, said: “The PPF has come a long way since it was set up. In just under five years, we have more than 55,000 members who are either receiving or due to receive compensation when they retire.” Arnold Wagner retired from his role as director of human resources, Smiths Group, in October 2009. Before that, he was director of personnel at Bunzl plc.
Baroness Warwick is currently chair of the Human Tissue Authority. Before that, she was chief executive of Universities UK for 14 years.
Christopher Hughes will remain on the board for a further year. He was formerly a partner with Wragge & Co.
Third term for Pittaway at the top
Sacker & Partners, has re-elected Ian Pittaway as senior partner, marking Ian’s third consecutive term in the role. He presides over 50 pension lawyers. Mark Greenlees has been re-selected as the firm’s deputy senior partner.
