The PMI elects Susan Andrews as new president
Susan Andrews has been elected as the new president of the Pensions Management Institute, the leading educational body with 5,000 members.
Susan will take over from the current president, Mike Sullivan, at the PMI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 7 July 2011.
Susan was elected to PMI Council in 2001, becoming vice president in 2010 chairing its Membership Committee and acting as a trustee of the Institute's own pension fund. Susan is a director of Trustee Solutions Limited – a company providing professional pension trustee services and a pensions partner at Pinsent Masons. Susan is also a committee member of the Independent Pension Trustee Group.
Commenting on her appointment, Susan said: “I am very pleased to take on the role of PMI President, especially at a time when the pensions industry is facing so many fundamental changes in the run up to 2012. Making adequate provision for retirement has never been more important. My aim will be to ensure that the PMI continues to support and develop those professionals within the industry by establishing, maintaining and improving professional standards across the board”.
PMI chief executive, Vince Linnane commented: “Susan is one of the most dynamic pensions lawyers in the UK. She will bring a challenging and analytical mind, and the drive and commitment to lead the PMI forward. There is a number of exciting PMI initiatives being launched in the coming months and it is great that we will have such a committed president at this important time”.
Susan is recognised by Chambers Directory and Legal 500 as a leader in the pensions field.
